- External: external evaluation expert(s) together with local/regional collaborators appointed as field workers + panel of experts external/internal on the thematic area of the project
- Mixed (internal-external): external expert on evaluations + in-house staff + panel of experts internal/external
Added values:
- Data collection: potential use of advanced data collection techniques (including capacity building workshops or videos to staff). E.g.: most significant change stories, retrospective baselines set up with control group, case studies, etc.
- Lessons learned and interesting practices: sound assessment of lessons learned and interesting practices produced by the project specifically focused on learning aspects from in-house teams.
- Monitoring, evaluation and learning system: including capacity building and specific set of recommendations to improve and tailor systems for evidence-based and adaptive decision making (may include workshops on reconstructing/developing theories of change, set up a complete indicators system, etc.)
- Donors’ feedback: we always include donors as part of the evaluation process to crosscheck interests, doubts or perceived project value to boost client-donors relationships.
- Partnerships: we foster mutual accountability between project partners thoroughly assessing partnership set up and principles.
